The season we are in is unique and unlike any other we have seen before. We are separated and forced into a new reality, searching for answers to the cause of the challenges we are facing. As we try to adjust and move along with our lives, it is impossible to ignore the historic number of people passing away. This sparks even more questions and emotions. Have you lost a loved one or heard of the passing of someone you knew? Have you found yourself afraid and wondering what lies ahead? What meaning does this all hold for you?
The experience of losing a loved one or friend is a sobering one. For a moment in time, we look at our lives objectively in comparison to the lives of those we lost to arrive at a conclusion on how to continue forward. Perhaps the person that passed away lived a notable life. They were cherished and their impact will be felt for generations to come. Or maybe the person that passed away lived a life that lacked passion, direction, and positive influence. In either case, there are lessons to take away. The key is that you figure out what the lessons are and take charge of your life so that you can live the life that you would love others to glean from.
Write Your Life Story
The fact that you are still here means that the story of your life has not ended. There is a purpose for your life and every decision you make from this point will continue to add to the narrative. So consider these questions:
What did the people you’ve lost teach you through the way they lived their lives?
What are you inspired to do with your life moving forward?
What do you want to do that would make your life feel fuller?
What have you given up on that you want to bring life to again?
What type of impact would you like to leave?
While this may be a time of sadness and mourning, it will not last forever. As you find moments of peace and clarity, take the time to redefine your goals and priorities. Use this season wisely to step toward the life you really desire to live. A life filled with purpose and fulfillment.
